On Saturday 27th February, the Woodend Bee-Friendly Society exhibited at the Macedon Ranges Sustainable Living Festival for the second successive year. And as with last year it was a tremendous success. Visitors were very interested in the Flow Hive (thanks, Katie and Colin), the observation hive (thanks, Jim), honey extractor (thanks, Em), bee vac and honey tasting. Many people expressed their wonder at the different types of honey you can get locally. Thanks to all those who helped out with the stall, or provided their honey for sampling, or simply came to offer their support. Particular thanks to Matty and Samantha who were instrumental in getting the banner and brochures ready in time as well as organizing the marquee and trestle tables. As is our wont, several of us celebrated the successful day at Holgate’s afterwards with a well-deserved pint.
