WBFS meeting on Sunday 21st Feb

The monthly WBFS meeting is this Sunday (21st Feb) 3-4.30pm at the Woodend Neighbourhood House. The main topic will be ways to extract honey. (I know that for most of us it has been a very lean year for honey but it is always good to be prepared). We shall compare the various merits and disadvantages with harvesting with an extractor and crushing in a stocking or muslin. We shall also discuss how to register your hives with DEDJTR (very important). Please bring $5 and a small plate of goodies.

Also thanks to Matty and Sam we have terrific “Woodend Bee-Friendly Society” patches for your beesuits for only $10. The patches are 10 x 5 cm. We have a great little Society here; let’s flaunt it!

  1. Hi I am probably amongst an impending swarm of people who have purchased a Flow Hive and is looking to join a local Bee Keeping group for mentoring and support. Would I be welcome to come along to the meeting on Sunday Feb 21st at 3pm? Or is it a meeting for those who have already established their hives?

    Many thanks,
